Step-by-Step Guide for Posting a Rabbit

1. Fill in your rabbit’s details: Start by entering information about your rabbit. You’ll provide basics like name, age, breed, and personality, plus any important health or behavior notes. The more detail you share, the easier it is for adopters to see if your rabbit is a good fit for them.

2. Upload pictures: Add a few clear, adorable photos of your rabbit. (Tip: Use natural lighting and get down at your bunny’s eye level for the best shots. A well-lit, close-up photo of your rabbit’s face and a full-body shot can help adopters fall in love!)

3. Submit your post: Once you’ve filled in all the info and added photos, hit submit. Your rabbit’s listing will go live on Rabbit Match so approved adopters can find it. You’re now one step closer to finding your bunny a new home!

4. Subscribe to keep your post live: After submitting, you’ll be prompted to choose a subscription plan. A base monthly subscription is required to keep your rabbit’s listing active on the site. (We keep this fee low – it’s just to support the platform and care for rabbits in need.) Don’t worry, your listing won’t vanish as long as you’re subscribed.

How Adoption Works

1. Approved adopters only: All rabbit listings on Rabbit Match are visible only to adopters who have been approved and have completed our education process. This means any potential adopter contacting you has already learned about proper rabbit care. You can feel confident that the people reaching out are prepared to give your rabbit a great home.

2. In-platform messaging: Interested adopters can message you directly through Rabbit Match. If someone likes your rabbit’s profile, they’ll send you a message on our platform to ask questions, learn more about your rabbit’s personality and needs, and discuss details. (Your personal contact info stays private until you decide to share it.)

3. Arrange pickup or shipping: Once you and an adopter decide to move forward, it’s time to arrange how to get your rabbit to its new family. We strongly recommend meeting in person if possible — for example, you can arrange a safe meeting spot or have the adopter come to you. If distance is an issue, you can discuss pet-friendly shipping or transport options. Many adopters are willing to drive a few hours, and specialized pet transport services or flight nanny services can help with longer distances. The key is to agree on a method that keeps your rabbit safe and comfortable.

4. Finalize the adoption: After the adopter has received your rabbit (either picked up in person or via arranged transport) and everyone is happy, the adoption is finalized! At this point, you or the adopter can mark the rabbit as adopted on Rabbit Match (or the system will automatically remove the listing after confirmation). Your listing will come down from the site, and your subscription will end so you won’t be charged further. You’ve successfully rehomed your rabbit to a loving new home 🎉.
